Day 1 - Arriving in Sydney, Australia

We flew to Sydney from San Francisco on United Airlines, it was something like a 13 hour flight.  Good news was that the flight was not full.  We ended up sitting in two empty rows so we were able to stretch out and get some sleep for big chunks of the flight.  Our hotel in Sydney was downtown very near the waterfront and just minutes away from our departure terminal.  We arrived fairly early so our rooms were not ready yet.  We checked in and asked them hold our bags, then we went back out and caught a "hop-on, hop-off" bus that took us a city-wide tour which was fun.  We then stopped at a nearby restaurant for some lunch.  Rooms were ready after that, we checked in and unpacked.  All in all a great way to start our adventure down under... :)

All packed up and ready to go.  We did not take the statue...

Touring downtown Sydney on our "hop-on, hop-off" bus A park with some church in the distance, the weather was spectacular!

Turns out the church was St. Mary's Cathedral. Look close, just liked the name of the street...
