Day 06 - Cruising a fjord in Stavanger, Norway

Day 6 was in Stavanger, Norway, just down the coast from our initial port of Bergen.

Our tour today was a trip up the Lysefjord to see the Prejkestolen or “Pulpit Rock”, a 2000 ft tall rock formation.  On the way back, our tour boat stopped at a shore-side establishment in Helleren that served us coffee, tea, and fresh waffles with jam, oh boy!  Another beautiful day!

Diner was at another of the specialty restaurants onboard, the “Chef’s Table”.  They served a French-themed dinner that was really good.

We said goodbye to Norway as we departed Stavanger in the early afternoon on our way to Aalborg, Denmark...

Photo taken from our stateroom balcony as we docked in Stavanger in the morning...

Weather has continued to cooperate (although the forecast is for some rain tomorrow).

Cruising out of Stavanger harbor toward Lysefjord.

Close in shot of some cliffs in Lysefjord. Normally there are waterfalls

but Norway is currently experiencing drought conditions...

Pulpit Rock - story goes that a preacher opined that the rock formation looked like his pulpit...

People can/do hike up to the top, not us, thanks!

Another view of the Lysefjord from our tour boat.

More Norwegian goats, the tour boat Captain pulled in close so the crew could feed them some bread. It was a race between the goats and the seagulls, it appeared that the goats won!

Speeding back to our cruise ship, the Viking Sun, after our waffle stop. We were so busy chowing down on the waffles we forgot to take a picture, honest mistake!
