Day 07 - Welcome to Aalborg, Denmark

We cruised all night and most of the morning, arriving in Aalborg, Denmark in the early afternoon. We started on a walking tour of the old town, then decided to break away on our own to tour a local art museum. Going to a lecture on something called the “Berlin Airlift” this evening before we head over for dinner. Leaving Aalborg tonight en route to Copenhagen. |
Viking ran a whole series of onboard lectures on various topics related to the cruise itinerary. This morning we attended this lecture which focused on the Battle of Hastings... fascinating. | Passed by this sailboat as we cruised into the port of Aalborg... |
As we came off the ship we saw this interesting fountain, it goes off four times a day, synchronized to “Water Music” by Handel. | Walking through the fountain on our way downtown... |
Passed this group of pseudo-Vikings on our walk, they were mostly selling souvenirs and local honey... | City square in old town Aalborg. Weather was incredible, mid 70s, and everybody was out enjoying the sunshine. |
