Doing Deutschland!

Back in the late 70s, we were active duty Air Force junior NCOs stationed in Germany.  We wanted to get married but didn't have the money to come back to the States for a formal wedding so instead we had a civil ceremony at the local Rathaus in Zehlendorf, West Berlin.  West Berlin was our first home together, we worked and lived there for most of the 80s and had the privilege of watching the Berlin Wall come down in November 1989.  We finally came back to the States for good in 1991...

Remarkably, forty years later we are still happily married.  We decided that an appropriate anniversary trip would be a vacation back to Berlin.  We took the long way to get there though, starting in Frankfurt and then touring all over Germany before ending with a couple of special days in Berlin.
